Totally Kicking Butt!

Well I am almost there! My race is in 24 days. I can not believe that it is coming up so quickly. There has been so many things that have gone on this summer that I am not sure where to start... Let me just say that it has been a very eventful summer. I feel like I have been out of town forever. I went to Florida twice and then to a few out of town ball tourneys for Lex. Here are some great pictures of us in Florida! Then when I got back last week our basement flooded. What a royal pain in the butt!!!! I am now sitting here in my office with no carpet and no "stuff" waiting for the insurance man to come over and tell me how much I have to spend and when my new carpet is going to be here. NOT only is this all majorly inconvenient, but next weekend is my biggest craft show ever at "Festival of the Little Hills" in downtown Saint Charles. It is huge and I am now frantically making stuff on my kitchen table with my lovely children running around. We seriously had to clear out the whole basement so everything that we own, which Dan says is a lot of crap , is all over my garage and my front room of my house. The girls love it though! I have been doing really good at my tri training. I am really proud of myself. Turns out Fat Gals can do this!! I am very nervous for the triathlon and seriously know that I am going to come in dead last and I am totally ok with that. Dan bought me a brand new bike that I really love and I am getting better and better each day with it. I seriously can not see how as a kid I used to be able to ride with no hands! That is totally CRaZY!! Lexy and Benny are getting ready to start school again! man this has been a short summer. Lexy will be a sophomore this year...which totally blows my mind. That is the year that we moved from Utah to Saint Louis for me. For those of you who knew me then, it was not a great year. She is so much better than I ever was though. She just got her permit for her drivers license today and I let her drive home from batting lessons in my new Suburban with all the kids in the car. I was a nervous nelly!! She did ok... but not great. We really need to work on that. :) Benny is starting 2nd grade. His best friend Garrett is in his class so he will be just fine and is really excited for school to start which surprises me. AHHHH it is midnight i have to go to bed!~ I am such a bad poster, and a friend from when I was a little girl reminded me of that.. thanks Cindy!

TRiatHLoN {a FAt GaLs GuiDE}
 Can you believe it? I am actually going to be doing a MiNi- TRiaThLoN!!! I am doing it on August 30. I will try and post my progress here. I really have been working out hard lately to start to get ready for this thing. I am not too worried about the swimming part {when I think about it , I get worried, but not too bad} - I am really nervous about the bike ride. I can not believe that I have not really been on a bike since I went on a date like 13 years ago with my friend Jared. He took me mountain bike riding and it was horrible. I hated it. He was so sweet and we left early and went to meet some friends to go swimming. I would like to think that I had such a hard time because it was all up a mountain. I am going to go on thinking that. :) I have started running as much as I can and I am actually getting better at that. I would honestly say that I am starting to not hate it. I can not say that I love it yet, or that I like it, but it is starting to not be so bad. I am also very excited that this all has helped me with my weight issue. I have faced the fact that I am fat now. I do not want to be fat, I do not want my kids to have the "fat mom" So I am really trying now. I do much better with big goals like this. Dan, my Dad, Dylan and Nick are doing it with me, I am glad for that. I am going to post a picture of me now- and then I can come back each week and update to see how I am progressing. This is a picture of me and my Dad at my Grandma Graces funeral, and also Lacey and my cousin Dawn. Not very great circumstances, but at least it was all of me and not just a head shot! Man I have a lot of work to do. I would love to have some support- so if you feel like it, send me an encouraging email... I need all the help I can get. Go MeR GO!!!!!!

Where is Spring??
 OH mY HeCK- I am so seriously sick of this crappy Missouri weather. This has been a crazy last few months. Lexy and Ben have had so many snow days this year. I swear that they are not going to get out of school this year until the middle of June. We had a great Easter and Spring Break with the kids. It was very nice to not have to get up for school or seminary for the kids. On Easter we went to my Mom and Dad's house for our famous.... {Easter Egg Hunt} I love to make fun memories with my kids and pass on my favorite traditions. Easter egg hunts with the Ebert family are a huge tradition. I really loved doing that at my Grandma Grace and Grandpa Ray's house when I was a little girl. We all loved it. My cousin Dawn and I had a blast when we were little. My Dad has really carried on this tradition for my kids. Each year we all {my brothers and sister and now also our spouses} get to have a {big KIDS} Easter egg hunt, we all run throughout the yard looking for that one {GOLDEN EGG} my Dad will hide 1 really big dollar egg out there and it is a race to see who can find it. We are totally brutal. Lexy has been hunting with the {big KIDS} for a while, this year Benny really wanted to look with the big kids. It bummed him out that he had to be 8 years old to do it. He ran all over and helped me with my hunting. It was also one of the only years I can remember that we had to have the hunt inside. The weather was crazy this year on Easter. It totally SNOWED!!! My Dad also does an Easter Egg Hunt for the little kids. Gracey, Ally, Benny and Peyton ran all over looking for their fun eggs also. My parents are great. I am soooooo glad that we can live here in St. Louis by them. Later that day, we went to church. I was really glad that we went. It was cute to see what the kids learned in their classes, Ally came out of Nursery and said, "Mom, why did J esus come out of the tomb? because it was too dark in there?" it was so cute. I was able to teach YW that day also, I really enjoy teaching Lexys class. I really love the girls in there. Later that night we went to Dan's parents house and played with the kids cousin Ellie from Texas. The girls love to play with Ellie. She is adorable. She is very independent, she would just play for hours if her mom would let her. She is a crack up. Grandma Charlotte and Grandpa Bill also had an egg hunt for the kids at their house. The kids loved it. Joanna made it so that all of the kids had to look for "specific" eggs. Like, Gracey had to find all of the eggs with the stars on them. It made it great. they all took a long time to find all of the eggs and it was really fun to actually have time to watch them hunt. It was a great idea!!! Just FYI - I can not figure out why some of this lettering is big and some is not. SORRY- I am not the most blogger savvy girl out there.

{holY coW itS 2008}
  WOW!!! whEre the HeCK did 2007 Go? It has been a crazy past month. I can not believe that Christmas is over and we are now looking forward to spring. Lexy is getting ready to start ball and I am getting excited for the new year and a new coach and team. Benny just turned 7- Man life is just flying right along! We had a glorious time in Utah for New Years. I love going out to the Heber House and spending time with my Mom & Dad. The kids love it out there and I find that I am just so relaxed out there. This year only my bro. Nick was able to go with us. My sister Lace and her hubby had to work and Dylan and his wife were working also. The kids had a blast with uncle Nick {when he was not barfing his guts out} He got a little sick on the trip. Maybe not a little- he was very sick. Thankfully it only lasted for a little while and we were back in business. We had a great time with the kids in the snow. I love to go out there and take the kids tubing, skiing and to see my family. My Aunt Rita lives out there and I always love to see her. She is totally one of my inspirations in life. I really admire her, I want to be like her. She is beautiful, talented and just so much fun to be around, she is one of those people that makes me feel better about myself when I am around her. We also were able to see my Grandma Grace. I love my Grandma so much. She is and was always so much fun. When I was a little girl, she always did so many fun and wonderful things for us. There are so many things that I remember about her, I loved going to her house and eating wheat toast, homemade canned peaches, and croutons. My Grandpa Ray always had croutons. It was such a treat to go over there and eat those things. I also remember picking peaches, cherries and apricots from her trees and just eating them right there from the tree. Grandma Grace was always the "shoe" Grandma~ she would always buy us new shoes~ and not just any shoes, Nike's or Reebok's. It was great. There are so many things that I remember about her. I miss her so much. I was so blessed when I was growing up to have great Grandparents. I am so thankful that my kids have great Grandparents also. Dans parents are wonderful with them and the kids have a blast when we go over there. My parents are so great with my kids also. {I cherish our Sunday evenings with my family. }
